On the first day of this August, US-China Legal Exchange Foundation (UCLEF) held its first Annual Summer Picnic at Arthur Ross Pientum of the Central Park, New York. Aiming at channeling the communication among legal professionals, the event was highly complimented by all its participants.

The whole event enjoyed a pleasant mood. Ms. Hong Zhang, the president of UCLEF, welcomed everyone and briefly introduced the foundation. She then gave remarks on how to extent the communication and cooperation between Chinese and US legal society. The guests, who were of legal, finance, IT and various other professions, were impressed by the quality of the event and the connection opportunities presented by it.

Being a non-profit educational and professional organization , UCLEF has been dedicating in providing high-end professional service, bridging US-China communications in legal field. It helps to explore resources and opportunities for both US and Chinese legal professions. It has successfully held series of programs and cultural campaigns, such as Chinese Lawyers Advanced Training Program, Chinese Outstanding Law Students Visiting Delegation to US and UCLEF 2010 Summer Internship Program at Chinese Law Firms for US Law Students, etc.

And there is yet more to come. In this September, UCLEF will hold US-China Legal Expert Forum. By the end of the year, UCLEF will present the opportunity for US lawyers to visit China and explore more professional connections. UCLEF is also preparing the publication of US-Trained Chinese Attorney Directory as well as launching a column on top Chinese news media introducing elite US-trained Chinese attorney. Additionally, to better serve the Chinese communities in US, UCLEF is organizing Chinese attorneys practicing in US to offer legal aid to their local communities.

Now, UCLEF has been playing a more and more significant role in advancing US-Chinese legal cooperation and cultural understandings. Though its programs and activities, it has been growing into an influential forum for legal and other professionals.
