UCLEF published the logo of the foundation on Nov. 16, 2008. The image of the logo as below:

The Explanation to the Logo
The logo of the foundation is composed of three elements: shield, a written Chinese character "" and five English letters "UCLEF". Three colors, red, blue and white are used in the logo. The meanings of each element and color are stated as below:
I. ELEMENTS
1.The image of shield means the protection and safeguarding function of Law.
2.In Chinese, the character ""(Its pronunciation is "gong") means fairness and justice. Here the "" is
written as an art design of , which also looks like the robe wore by judges or barristers
3."UCLEF", the acronym for the foundation's  name the U.S.- China Legal Exchange Foundation, represents the Foundation.

II. COLORS
Viewing from the whole image, the shield is in two colors: blue and red. The Chinese Character ""is in white. The three colors represent different meanings:
1.Blue, one of colors in American flag , stands for the US; Red, the majority color of China's flag , stands for China. The design of shield in  half blue and half red means the Close cooperation between the US and China.
2.The colors of blue and red convey more meanings. Blue means rational, calm and steady attitude in action; Red means dynamic, enthusiastic, and passion attitude in action. These are the two sides of the Foundation's working style.
3.The Chinese character "" and "UCLEF" are in white, which suggests the purity of the Foundation in course of serving the legal exchange between the US and China.

III. OVERALL MEANING
The logo also looks like the facial mask-like makeup in traditional Chinese opera, which represents China. All the colors, red, blue and white, are the colors of American flag, which represent the U.S.. The entire logo means the US-China Legal Exchange Foundation is dedicated to promoting the exchange and cooperation between the US and China legal communities and approaching justice via mutual understanding of the two sides.
