The first organization meeting of the UCLEF Board of Trustees was held on October 8, 2008. The attendees discussed the important issues on the development of the foundation, selected and appointed the officers of the foundation as following:

- Appointed Mr. Lianzhou Wang, Former Vice Director of Economic Law Division, Finance and Economy Committee of China People Congress, Chairman of Trust and Fund Research Institute of at People??s University, China as the Honorary President of the Foundation;
- Elected Ms. Huachun Dong as the Chair;
- Appointed Ms. Hong Zhang to be the President;
- Appointing Mr. Xuefeng Peng, the director of Dacheng Law Firm, to be China Executive Director;
- Appointed Mr.Liming Zhao,to be Director;
- Mr.Fenglin Xiao as CTO.

At this meeting, Mr. Dai Mr. Linin Day , Mr. Vincent Tat Pang Lin, and Mr. Fusheng Xu were invited to be as advisors of the foundation. The meeting decided to invited more professors and experts of high prestige as the advisors.

The United States-China Legal Foundation (UCLEF) is an independent membership nonprofit, professional and educational organization, located in New Jersey, U.S.. As a professional organization, we are playing an important role in promoting legal exchange and cooperation between U.S. and China by providing education, networking opportunities, business development and other related services and resources. UCLEF provides the link between legal education and practice, promotes best practices, facilitates discussions at meetings and conferences, and provides a forum for its members through course offerings and other related activities, thus advancing their knowledge and careers.
